On the verge of his comeback after a suspension, Golden State Warriors’ power forward, Draymond Green, addressed the media, acknowledging his responsibility for the team’s recent challenges.
Green, who faced suspension due to a series of aggressive incidents with fellow players, reflected on his absence in a press conference, emphasizing the urgency of his return from a professional standpoint.
“I have cost my team enough. I have cost this organization enough. It’s not a time for me to just come back and be like, ‘alright I am going to take my time and get back when I can…,'” Green admitted, taking full responsibility for his actions.
While acknowledging the mental and emotional toll, Green sees this period as a chance for redemption. He expressed motivation to rejoin the team and contribute, emphasizing his eagerness to make amends.
“You sit home, and you watch these games, and as a competitor, you want to help,” Green stated, highlighting his competitive spirit.
However, he downplayed the idea of a celebratory return, given the circumstances of his suspension. Despite a light-hearted moment when the coach welcomed him back, Green expressed a sense of urgency to prove himself.
“I am coming back from a suspension, not an injury. So, there was a huge sense of urgency,” Green remarked, emphasizing his commitment to delivering a robust performance for the team.
Despite not participating in the last 12 games, Green affirmed his dedication to pushing himself daily and meeting the necessary requirements to make a strong comeback on the court.
